Why do you still play?
Curious as to why you still feel a need to login and play?
For me, it is the development of sites and programs. I enjoy programming/coding, even learning CNC Programming that led me down my career path.

Pretty much the same for me. I like how simple it is and all of the different things that can be programmed for it. I always liked how many developers were in this community and looking at the things they accomplished relating to the game.
Actually playing the game is pretty comforting too. I don't know if it's because I've been playing it for so long or if I just enjoy the simple game mechanics. There's not a lot to think about in most of the game modes, so I can just jump in and relax.

Yo. I don’t really play. I drop in and say hi and leave again for the most part. I got too many other things going on.

Re: Why do you still play?
I think the creators of this game just made a masterpiece. I was in a summer computer class at an Employment and Training organization that picked a few high-schoolers from low-population high schools to participate in a program they just started up. Me and a buddy got accepted, and the class was to teach us how to build our own computer, and learn some other skills to relate it to the employment side of things. But the main perk was that if you passed all the assignments, and succeeded in the build, you could then keep your computer and printer. A hell of a deal in 1998. Our teacher gave us the cracked version of the game, as well as a copy of an early version of Ghost, then made by Binary Research, so that we could image our hard drives after we left the program. My buddies and I played the crap out of this game well into the 2000s. My best subspace bud stopped playing altogether, moved out of state, and only recently did I get back in touch with him, but he doesn't care to actually try to get into the game again.
I started taking like 5 year breaks starting in the mid-2000s because I was busy pursuing other things, like my band, job, etc. But I would come back every so often and get back into it for a while. I've almost exclusively played Trench Wars since it first became a zone. I feel like the ships (original configuration anyways) had such cool balance and differences in this zone, and I love the main pub base game of just trying to get in there and get the flag/defend the flag. That's all I've ever really needed. To some it is like an antiquated simple game, but I think it actually has a lot of depth for what it is. Anyways, I'm back after another long break, and I'm having a good time. I think the game still holds up fairly well. I can't really explain why I love this game,...I just always have. And probably always will. Did that answer the question? lol.
